Harper's Bazaar Believes | Straight from the Horse's Mouth
After 2013’s sea of sugary-sweet pink toppers inspired by that Rochas and this Carven (you know the ones), the new statement coat seems to be an unexpected shade of deep tangerine. The street style set was up on it first, with Leandra Medine in a slim, floor-sweeping version by Rosie Assoulin in New York, and Yasmin Sewell in London yesterday in a citrus-hued topper. With two on Preen’s runway and one just shown at Burberry Prorsum, get prepped to stand out.
Another trend in the bag!
Several months ago, I forecasted that blood orange would become Pantone’s 2015 Color of the Year. With lots of coverage from Harper’s Bazaar US, I’d say we’ve received solid proof that this prediction is spot on. The editors at HB write, “the new statement coat seems to be an unexpected shade of deep tangerine.” And, “on the Spring ’14 runways, orange was the it color – especially on lips.”
I first noted this brilliant hue while blogging about food last year – persimmons to be exact. It’s appearance on and off the runway (during last year’s fall and spring shows) has only strengthened my conviction that this is the color to watch. Whatd’ya say, Pantone? Shall we call this one early?
